WITH 197 DAYS TO 2019 ELECTION! See the list of Senators, Reps and Governors that dumped APC for PDP

In preparation for the 2019 general elections, the political atmosphere in Nigeria is witnessing quite an interesting turn of events virtually on a day to day basis.

The political bigwigs of different states and their loyalist have decided to dump one political party for the other in a bid to find their voice on a favourable political platform.

While the list keeps growing as more defectors are yet to emerge, the two major parties in Nigeria, namely the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seem to be the major game changers that have dominated the news.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has scheduled the 2019 Presidential and National Assembly elections for Saturday, 16th February, while the Governorship and State Assembly/Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council elections have been scheduled for Saturday, 2nd March 2019.

According to the information by the electoral body, it’s six months and fifteen days to the much anticipated Presidential and National Assembly elections and seven months to the Governorship and State Assembly/Federal Capital Territory Council elections.

With that in mind, it is presumed that there will be more defections, and the APC has certainly witnessed quite a large amount of its fair share in recent times.

1. Senate president, Bukola Saraki

He dumped APC to rejoin his political “alma matter” PDP. He announced his defection on Tuesday, July 31.
