A Nigerian evangelist has lambasted those who prayed to go naked, saying its unscriptural.

Ben Dzwa, who described himself on Facebook as a Steward at INNOVATES GROUP, said those who prayed naked may be “trying to seduce God to answer you”.

Dzwa likened the act to witchcraft.

He wrote,

 Praying Naked?

It’s unscriptural, it’s more of witchcraft.

Is like trying to seduce God to answer you, Ish!

But Facebook commenters have disagreed with Dzwa and challenged him to name a bible verse which forbids praying naked.

One Tyokuha Tor-Tyulen Bare wrote: “as you came, please give me the verse which forbids praying naked”.

Another commenter, one Priscilla James, described Dzwa’s opinion as the “wrong mindset”.

She wrote,

 Praying naked is never tricking God, it only depends on your own understanding of it and how you see it sir Ben Dzwa. How about lifting up our holy hands to God in worship, does that also imply tricking God. That’s a very wrong mindset.

Dzwa replied:

What prayer points requires one to be naked before they present before God?
