Some feminists on Twitter have called out Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz following the case of a 23-year-old girl who was gang-raped and filmed by her attackers in Lekki.

In a series of tweets, some feminists opined that Falz should lend his voice more to rape victims instead of singing about “runz” girl, commercial sex workers and transactional sex.

Many referred to one of his songs “Child of the World” saying that the girl was a victim of rape by her uncle and not a child of the world as the song portrayed.

One female Twitter user wrote; “Falz who was here the other day saying that the reason he speaks out against runs girls is because He DoEsN’T wAnT wOmeN To bE sExualIzed.

“But he’ll go silent about rape issues, which shows that his rage is not with men disrespecting women, but because women r getting paid.”

WuzupNaija had reported that two Babcock University dropouts, Don-Chima George and Olusegun Rasak, assaulted a 23-year-old lady on Feb. 3, from 5.00a.m. to 7.00a.m. at Delankaster Hotels, Lekki Phase 1.

The case was reported by the victim at the Maroko Police Division and was later transferred to the Gender Section at state police command headquarters, Ikeja.

The prosecutor submitted that the duo lured their victim to the hotel and raped her after drugging her.

George,25, and Rasak,28, are now at the Kirikiri Prisons on the orders of an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.

Meanwhile, earlier today, some reports claimed that the suspects were released by the police.

However, the force in a press statement signed by CSP Dolapo Badmus, PRO Zone 2 debunked the reports saying the suspects were still in the police custody.

It is possible to speak on one thing in isolation. The fact that he voices his opinions about ‘runs girls’ doesn’t obligate him to speak about rape. At least he’s trying (in his own way) to speak out for a cause. A trait we can only hope for in other celebrities.
