HE FOUGHT OVER PARKING SPACE! Pearl Harbour actor, Alec Baldwin, arrested in New York

Published

Actor Alec Baldwin was arrested Friday after allegedly punching someone in New York City’s West Village neighbourhood.

A spokesperson for the New York Police Department said in a TheWrap report that the “30 Rock” alum is currently being held, and assault charges are pending.

No further information on the arrest was available.

However, NBC News reported that Baldwin is accused of punching someone in the West Village.

Citing law enforcement sources, the network said Baldwin was involved in an argument over a parking spot.

According to the Daily Beast, someone was holding the spot for Baldwin, and before Baldwin could park in the spot, another individual drove in and took the space.

Reps for Baldwin did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Shortly after news of Baldwin’s arrest, Donald Trump Jr. — whose father has been portrayed by Baldwin numerous times on “Saturday Night Live” — tweeted about the arrest, calling Baldwin a “piece of garbage.”

Is anyone shocked at this piece of garbage anymore? As if the phone calls to his daughter weren’t bad enough. He’s a lib so he gets chance after chance to be decent but always fails!

This isn’t Baldwin’s first brush with the NYPD. In May 2014, the actor was cited for riding his bike in the wrong direction Tuesday and allegedly arguing with officers who stopped him.

NYPD said at the time that Baldwin, who had no ID, “refused to [identify] himself, became belligerent, cursing and yelling. He was then placed in handcuffs.”

The former “30 Rock” star was taken to a Manhattan police station to receive one summons for riding in the wrong direction and one for disorderly conduct, New York City Police Officer Arlene Muniz told TheWrap at the time.

“He was being belligerent and cursing,” she said. “He was fighting with the officers.”

Baldwin went on a Twitter rant after his arrest, posting the arresting officer’s name and badge number. The actor tweeted that he was taken into custody while “photographers outside my home ONCE AGAIN terrified my daughter and nearly hit her with a camera. The police did nothing.”

He then added,

“New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign.”

Baldwin has also had several other run-ins with the general public that did not involve law enforcement.

In 2011, the former “30 Rock” star was removed from a flight after refusing to stop playing the game “Words With Friends” on his phone.

In 2012, he was accused by a photographer of getting aggressive with him on a New York City street, and in 2013 another photographer filed a harassment claim against Baldwin.

Baldwin has been making more headlines lately for his frequent attacks on President Trump and his parody of the president on “Saturday Night Live.”

The liberal actor doubled down on his anti-Trump rhetoric at a fundraiser for New Hampshire’s Democratic Party last month.

“It is time to overthrow the government of Donald Trump — not in a violent way or unlawful way — but it must be overthrown nonetheless,” Baldwin told a crowd of some 800 party office-holders, candidates, officials and activists, drawing loud applause.

Baldwin also told reporters that he’s “always dreamed” of running for office himself, but explained it’s not in the cards for him at this time.

“My wife told me she’d divorce me if I ran for office,” he joked.
