Man shot in the head in Bayelsa vomits bullet doctors could not remove for months [Photos]
A Nigerian security expert has shared the heart-melting story of how a man who was shot by unknown gunmen in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state in 2019 lived with the bullet in his skull until a few days ago when he ‘miraculously’ vomited the strange object lodged in his skull for several months.
Bosinde Araikpe took to his Instagram page on Thursday to share the story melting the hearts of netizens on the social media platform.
Araikpe said every effort of medical professionals to get the bullet out of the man’s head proved abortive and the doctors also advised that surgery can only be carried out to remove the bullet when the wounds are properly healed due to the ‘complexity of the area affected.’
On Sunday 2nd February, while the gunshot victim was going to visit a friend, on getting to the spot where he was hit by the bullet last year, he felt like vomitting and the bullet came out through his mouth.
Araikpe wrote:
“He was shot on the head by unknown gunmen closed to his resident at Alamieseigha Road Opolo, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State last year and was rushed to FMC and latter transferred to NDU teaching Hospital for a professional handling.
“Every effort to get the bullet out of his head became abortive. The medical surgeons promised to conduct a surgery on him after wounds are properly healed, due to the complexity of the area affected.
“God with his infinite mercy conducted a surgery on him at the early hours on sunday 2nd of Feb 2020, while on his way out to visit a friend. The wonders of all is that; getting to the point where he was shot by those guys, he felt like something on his throat and tried to throw up. Behold, the dangerous bullet that was to make him undergo surgery later, came out through his mouth.”
