Medical doctor dies while trying to save lives in his neighbourhood
It was a tragic loss for the family of one Dr. Ayeni Adeyemi David, a consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at the Federal Medical Center Makurdi who died on Sunday, August 18, at his residence in Surulere, Lagos State.
It was gathered that Dr. David passed on while trying to save “electric accident victims” in his neighbourhood.
The news of his death was announced by one Olabisi Afolabi Brown who claimed to be his sister-in-law.

Mourning his death on her Facebook page, she wrote;
“Today is a sad day. I lost my dearest brother-in-law who died in the course of duty. He was trying to save electric accident victims in his neighbourhood.
“Dr. Ayeni Hakeem Adeyemi David rest in peace, she wrote.”
Another family member of the deceased, identified as Ahmed Adebayo Ayeni, also mourned the death of the medical practitioner.
In a short tribute on her Facebook page, she said “It’s just tragic, terrible for me over the loss of my dear brother. A renowned Medical consultant to the Federal Medical Centre.
“He died in the course of duty today at his resident in Surulere Lagos. He lived an exemplary life of humanity, meritorious services to mankind. Rest in peace, my dear brother. Dr. Ayeni Hakeem Adeyemi David.”
According to the deceased Facebook profile, he studied Medicine at College of Medicine, University of Lagos.
