Is he the greatest Fuji musician ever? Obesere sets Twitter on fire after 20 years
Over the years, music has gone past being a game of fun or a past time, it has become a business.
Music unites people of diverse colour, race, and religion, while to some, it is an art because of the poetic skills involved in putting rhymes and all together.
The Fuji music, a genre of Nigeria music, has over the years entertained and addressed pertinent issues in the country.
Any true lover of Fuji music is familiar with names like K1 De Ultimate, Pasuma, Shanko Rasheedi, Sunny T, Saheed Osupa, Salawa Abeni and many others, today, however, we will be focusing on Obesere.
Obesere at his peak was daring, and did not follow the ‘norm’ when it comes to shooting videos or even his lyrics.
Despite all these, he has, however, been able to win the heart of Fuji fans across the world with his iconic performance.
TwitterNG today celebrates Obesere as some fans point out the fact that the Fuji Icon as far back as the ’90s spoke against Police brutality;
“If you want to fire me, fire me make I die. I will never follow you to that station”. Abass Akande Mozart Obesere speaking on police brutality as far back as the 90’s.”
Some fans are asking that he basks in the trend and release an album or even a single track.
Read some of their comments below:
@PureminD had this to say: “Obesere‘s peak in Fuji music was 20 years ago. Man was a total menace. Rose to stardom and stayed up there for years. The Fuji Clan especially Wasiu Ayinde hated him so much. Guess what Obesere did? He built an exact design of K1’s house and used it as a Poultry Lmao.”
@Omo_Alufa_ tweeted:

@Feraljack_ said: “Obesere is back to proper stardom. Even now more popular among non-Yoruba listeners and youths than he ever was. The Lord indeed works in mysterious ways.”
@itzbasito wrote: “Obesere needs to capitalize on the massive PR he is getting on Twitter, he has taken over Twitter NG already. If Twitter NG reason your matter, you will blow again if you are years past your peak. Aki and Pawpaw are also beneficiaries of Twitter NG free PR.”
@PureminD_ said:
He was Muslim Clerics (Alfas, Sheiks and Imams) biggest nightmare.
They cursed him at their waasi, they used him as bad a bad example and warned their members to desist from listening to his songs.
Obesere being a Muslim didn’t care for once, Man was a complete ass Lmfao

Another Twitter user said: “His music videos were premium Porn content. For an era when there was no social media, Obesere went damn too viral. One more unbelievable fact about him being a most immoral person “according to Alfas”, wanna know?”
@IamMrPunky wrote: “When I was young my mom won’t allow go to my Uncle’s house because he listens to Obesere’s song, saying I’ll become corrupt by his music 15years later, My Uncle is now a pastor and I’m a Marlian.”
