Police arrest woman for allegedly abducting two-year-old in Rivers



No fewer than two persons have been arrested by the Ondo police for their alleged involvement in the killing of a Southwest leader of Ogboni fraternity, Chief Stephen Akinkunmi in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

Newsmen learnt that Chief Akinkunmi was killed yesterday at the premises of the Saint Stephen Hotel, Ore after he refused to enter his car as ordered by the hoodlums.

According to the report, the assailants carted away cash worth over N2 million and other items belonging to the deceased

Reacting to the incident, brother of the deceased identified as Mr Joshua Akindele said the gunmen lodged in the hotel for three days before carrying out the operation.

Wife of the deceased, Mrs Toyin Akinkunmi, urged security agents to protect her family as she had been receiving threat messages from some people.

Police spokesman Tee-Leo Ikoro confirmed the arrest of the two suspects and said the command has begun an investigation into the incident.
