#RevolutionIsNow: Heavy security presence at National Stadium, Ibadan varsity sparks reactions [Video & Photos]
The planned #RevolutionNow protest scheduled to commence today may likely not go as planned as security operatives have surrounded the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, to prevent protesters from having access to the facility.
Reports also say security agents have been stationed at the entrance of the University of Ibadan in Oyo state where protesters are likely to converge.
The security agents have the OP MESA vans and police officers around the Lagos stadium.
Their presence also prevented athletes entrance into the stadium as some of them were seen training outside.
The Operation MESA or OP MESA, as it is commonly referred to, is a joint Internal Security Operational platform made up of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force.
The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the February 2019 General Election, Omoyele Sowore and his party had called for the staging of the #RevolutionNow in what they described as a protest against bad governance in the country.
Sowore was, however, arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) at his Lagos home in the early hours of Saturday over allegations of threat to public peace.

Meanwhile, some Nigerians have taken to Twitter to react to the presence of security agents at the National Stadium in a bid to stop the protesters.
Tweeting with the hashtag #RevolutionIsNow, they condemned the government for deploying security agents to the streets to stop the protesters.

It doesn’t matter if Sowore used #RevolutionIsNow or #BringBackOurGirls Or #helpNigerians the government will always find a way to stop it. Tuface was not a politician neither did he project any form of civil disobedience, but we all know how it ended..

Just passed through the national stadium and you’d be amazed at the battalion of soldiers and other security agents on ground. Why can’t we direct same energy in renovating the stadium instead of positioning security agents to stop a peaceful protest. #RevolutionIsNow
