Popular Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has once again launched into a diatribe against BBC Africa’s reporter, Kiki Mordi, over her controversial sexist tweet on Monday.

About a month ago, Olunloyo had called out Mordi for ‘chasing clout’ after her viral undercover report on sexual harassment in some universities in West Africa.

In the report dubbed ‘Sex For Grades’, two lecturers at the University of Lagos and two other at the University of Ghana were exposed for allegedly demanding sex from ‘admission seekers’.

Since the report made Kiki an internet sensation, Olunloyo had been at loggerheads with her, claiming she didn’t play any undercover role in the sex for grades documentary, hence she shouldn’t take credit for another person’s effort.

She frowned at Kiki for taking credit and accolades which she said ought to be given to the lady who went undercover.

While the dust raised by the social media war between the duo had been laid to rest, Kiki’s controversial sexist tweet on Monday attracted criticism from Olunloyo who insisted that she is ‘a clout chaser’

Kiki in her response to a viral comedy skit  by Sydney Talker on Monday had said ‘men are trash’

She tweeted:

“At least you guys admit that men, even in professional settings, are trash as fuck.”

The tweet sparked criticisms on Twitter as a mob of social media users who expressed their disappointment in Kiki, slammed her for generalising and also cast aspersions on her recent investigative work.

Although she took to Twitter on Tuesday to rephrase her ‘sexist tweet’, she, however, maintained that she stands by her controversial tweet.

Some Twitter users in their reactions had made reference to Olunloyo’s tweet a month ago where she called Kiki out for ‘chasing clout’, saying they now believe Olunloyo’s claims.

Olunloyo took screenshots of the Twitter mentions and lambasted those who tagged her in the tweet.

She insisted that Kiki’s motive for showing her face in the report was because she wanted to be famous.

“Sex for grades was initiated by Nicholas Ibekwe of Premium Times April 2018 in the OAU case way before PH OAP #kikimordi.

“You didn’t take my advise. Ogechi Obidiebube undercover NOT her. She wanted FAME and showed her face acting like she got the threats. A big joke story.

“Only those lecturers can clearly identify who baited them and it was NOT Kiki. She forgot to pay Ogechi her ££ share. She and her BBC boyfriends Charlie Northcott and Adejuwon broke up after she reportedly slept with them for the assignment. Now she’s insulting men.

“Kiki Mordi is not a lesbian, she is just bitter on her alleged breakups so don’t tag me to the rubbish she tweeted and rants saying “Kemi was right” SHIT,” she added.

“Start Supporting local journalists not scandalous BBC Clout chasers.”
