Following the violence that broke out during the flag-off of the Lagos All Progressives Congress campaign at Ikeja, a video showing how Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, was rescued is making the round on the internet.

MC Oluomo, the popular chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers was rushed to Eko Hospital for treatment immediately the incident happened while the Police had declared another leader of the NURTW, Mustapha Adekunle, aka Seigo, wanted over the clash.

In the viral clip, MC Oluomo was seen limping and writhing in pains from his injuries while some men in customised APC shirts tried to get him out of the rowdy venue.

The video also showed some matchet wielding men trying to protect MC Olumo as his men formed a tight circle in a bid to shield and protect men.

Recall that no fewer than nine people on Tuesday were injured during the rally.

Meanwhile, since the news of MC Oluomo’s injury broke, Twitter users have been expressing divergent views about the bloody incident.

Many wondered how the “powerful” MC Olumo could have easily sustained injuries despite being reportedly fortified and always surrounded by his loyalists.

Some had also argued that MC Olumo didn’t come prepared probably thinking it was a normal random political gathering.

The rally, which held at the Sky Power Ground, Oba Akinjobi Road, Ikeja, was said to have started peacefully.

Popular Fuji maestro, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, aka K1 De Ultimate, was reportedly thrilling the audience when a gunshot was heard.

Pandemonium thereafter ensued as hoodlums suspected to be supporters of MC Oluomo and other transport unions attacked one another.

It was gathered that Police officers engaged the hoodlums in a gun battle, as people ran helter-skelter. In the melee, many people were injured.

Journalists who covered the event were also reported to have fled the scene to avoid being caught in the gunfire as some of them were injured.
