THEY TIED THE KNOT UNDER A BRIDGE! Homeless couple weds after 30 years together [Photos]
A South African homeless couple, Llewellyn Jeneker and Cecilia Absolom, got married under a bridge after spending 30 years together.
The pair was married by Pastor Manuel Benans in front of more than 100 guests, including other homeless people from the Cape Coast’s Culemborg Safe Space, reports Mirror UK.
Also in attendance was the newlyweds’ 12-year-old son Dylan. He witnessed his parents’ first dance as a live band belted out ‘Save the Last Dance to Me’.
The couple’s wedding day was made possible by the organisational powers of the city council and a woman called Jill Jeftha, who donated the wedding dress for the blushing bride.
She said: “I was touched and I am very happy for them.
“They deserve to feel and look beautiful.”
The bride, who has been homeless most of her life, said that the dress “stole my heart”.
Cecilia has spent much of her life on the streets of Cape Town, where she was raised by her late mother.
The new couple hopes to get a space for themselves and their son.
