Video: Policeman spotted washing his uniform with INEC ballot boxes
A police officer deployed for the Bayelsa State Governorship election was spotted washing his uniform with ballot boxes of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) used for the election.
The election was held on Saturday 16th November 2019.
Although the Nigerian Electoral Act did not stipulate any penalty for such act, Section 118 (3) of the 2010 Electoral Act only mentioned offences related to illegal production or importation of ballot boxes.
The offence attracts a maximum fine of N50 million or a term of imprisonment of not less than 10 years or both.
