The lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial district, Senator Dino Melaye, has accused the Nigerian Police and the Kogi State government of planning to kill him.

Melaye accused the two of hatching a plot to frame him with “culpable Homicide and illegal possession of firearm”.

The senator, who is due to go to court over gun-running charges, made the accusation in a two-part post on his Twitter handle.

He wrote,

Nigerian police working with Kogi State Govt is trying to frame me up again with culpable Homicide and illegal possession of firearm. This is going to be the 6th arraignment of police against me. They want to forcefully take me to Lokoja and kill me afterwards. cc: UN,EU,USA,AU

I was the one attacked by the police, they try to kill me, Ait reporter and other journalists were there. It was reported by Ait and other national print media. To turn around and accuse harmless me of lies is ridiculous. But this time they will be shocked because I know too much.

Wuzup Naija recalls that the lawmaker had previously made the same allegations against the police and the Kogi government. On the day he was due for arraignment in July, the controversial senator claimed he hid on a tree from kidnappers for 11 hours.

He alleged that his attackers were policemen.

However, Nigerians are not buying the senators accusations this time. Many commenters on his Twitter post said Melaye might be hatching a plot to escape his next arraignment
