WE CAN DO ALL THINGS IF WE WORK TOGETHER! Nigerians jubilate over #EndSARS, #ReformPoliceNG
The much-anticipated #EndSARS campaign have finally yielded positive results after acting president Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday ordered the immediate ‘overhaul’ of Nigerian police’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
Osinabjo’s directive comes after months of social media protests against the police unit which has over the years become synonymous with brutality and wanton arrests.

The #EndSARS hashtag has been one of the most used tags on all social media platforms because of the bizarre tales of woes by its victims.
Meanwhile, some Nigerian has showered praises on the ‘End SARS champion,’ Segun Awosanya, for relentlessly being a mouthpiece for numerous Nigerians who had been victims of SARS harassment and brutality.
Awosanya who is known to be outspoken over topical issues in Nigeria had constantly called out the Nigerian police and key stakeholders while flooding his Twitter handle with photos/ videos and pathetic stories of victims of SARS brutality.
While some Nigerians have been jubilating over the news, many also praised Osinbajo for taking the bull by the horn.

Some listed Osinbajo’s achievements since he assumed office after President Buhari’s trip outside the country and urged him to keep purging the country of corrupt and ‘unscrupulous’ people in key positions.
However, some Nigerians have advised the presidency to do everything necessary to ensure that the ‘overhaul” is not just a management term used to deflect and water down the true intent of the #EndSars movement.

Well done to you @segalink and the team. It takes a lot of discipline to remain methodical, focused & persistent without allowing a rush of blood to the head to derail efforts. For academics like us, the process you all have adopted to successfully #EndSARS is worthy of study??

i hope “overhaul” is not just a management term used to deflect and water down the true intent of the #EndSars movement as a critical precursor to the inevitable goal which is wholistic and total refirm if the NPF.

Congratulations Distinguished Segun Awosanya and the entire team who worked tirelessly to achieve this onerous accomplishment. I am eternally proud to be associated with the #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG and to have met the humble, humane and erudite @segalink at the MUSON event. pic.twitter.com/KJqGhakiSU

I commend @ProfOsinbajo for responding to Nigerians’ clamour over SARS, however, I don’t believe an overhaul is what is required. You shouldn’t overhaul what has become a vehicle for oppressing Nigerians. I call on the VP to #EndSARS and return its officers to core police duties

Right move by AgP @ProfOsinbajo on the @PoliceNG anti robbery unit #SARS @ProfOsinbajo
Just as I have always maintained a big NO to #EndSARS a massive yes to #ReformPoliceNG
Not all police officers are bad, many die trying to keep us safe. Overhaul, reform, train, reward, equip. pic.twitter.com/gueiPXZcXX— Kayode Ogundamisi (@ogundamisi) August 14, 2018
This is an important step forward in the reform of Nigeria’s notorious Special Anti-Robbery Squad. It helps that the Human Rights abuses got referenced too. Hopefully it leads to a much better unit. ?? @ProfOsinbajo ! #EndSARS issagoal! https://t.co/6WazhZiQIw

You have to acknowledge the tenacity of the #EndSARS campaigners. If they had not gone hard on the issue I doubt if #ReformPoliceNG or overhaul of #SARS would have had the attention of the Presidency. @PoliceNG need as much support as our soldiers. Bad eggs can be dismissed.

Without burning tyres, without causing mayhem & chaos, without blocking roads & looting shops, #EndSARS campaing achieved its aim!
Many thanks to the convener, the legal team & all the comrades who marched alongside Distinguished @segalink to fight the monster! We appreciate!?

I wonder where our human right is at in Nigeria, we seem not to have any Right in this country, how can a policeman without a warrant to search collect one’s phone ask for the password from the owners and if reluctant would be beaten. #EndSARS @segalink @citizen_gavel

For just one day, please leave all the “Yes, but…” and celebrate the efforts of @segalink and others that fought hard, sometimes at great personal risk, to #EndSARS. We have other issues, there’s more work ahead, bla bla bla. We know. We just want to celebrate today. Thank you

While Buhari was away, the acting president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo
1. Sacked the DG of DSS, Daura
2. He has also ordered for the overhaul of the Special Anti Robbery Squad unit. #EndSARS
I think Buhari should just continue his holiday till we have a bearing.
