Wike demolishes two hotels for violating lockdown directives (photos)
Two hotels have been reportedly been demolished by the Rivers state government for violating lockdown directives.
Newsmen learnt that the two hotels affected are Prodest Hotel, Eleme and Etemeteh Hotel, Onne for allegedly violating the lockdown order.
This is coming days after Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike imposed a lockdown and directed all hotels in the state to suspend services immediately as parts of measures to check the spread of COVID-19.
Wike had warned residents that failure to comply with the order would attract stiff penalties.
It was also learnt that Governor Wike reportedly supervised the demolition of the hotel in Eleme on Sunday afternoon while other government officials headed to Onne.
