18-year old on trial for allegedly stealing N91,300

A teenager was on Wednesday arraigned before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Osogbo for allegedly stealing a sum N91,300.

The police prosecutor, Kayode Adeoye, while addressing the court, said 18-year old Samson Adeleke stole the said amount from his boss, one Bola Oni.

Appearing before court on one count bordering on stealing, Adeleke, was said to have committed the offence on 30th of December 2019.

The details of the charge read,

“That you ADELEKE SAMSON M on 30th day of December 2019 at about 8 00am at No 12 Ayetoro Area Osogbo in the Osogbo Magisterial District did steal the sum of Nine-and three hundred Naira (N91 300) only property of one Bola Oni and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable by Section 390 (9) of Criminal Code CAP 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.”

After listening to his charge, Adeleke pleaded not guilty to a count charge of stealing pressed against him.

Najite Okobe, who announced appearance for the defendant, moved bail application for his client.

Magistrate Adebola Ajanaku, in her ruling, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N50,000 and two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case to 26th February 2020 for hearing.
