2019 ELECTIONS! Bianca Ojukwu loses senate bid
Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, the widow of the late Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, has lost her bid to contest for the senatorial seat in 2019 elections.
The former ambassador to Spain was defeated by Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu.
Ojukwu polled 177 votes to Ukachukwu’s 211.
Recall that Gunmen on Wednesday invaded the venue of the Anambra South senatorial primary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance at the Ekwulobia township stadium in Aguata.
The gunmen had scared away delegates and disrupted the primary.

It was gathered that an unidentified senatorial aspirant mobilised the hoodlums to the disrupt the party’s primaries.
The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Garba Umar, subsequently led a team of policemen to disperse the thugs.
The Police also released canisters of tear gas and fired several gunshots to scare away the hoodlums.
