2,065 health workers infected with coronavirus in Ghana
No fewer than 2,065 health workers in Ghana have tested positive for Covid-19 since the coronavirus outbreak began, according to the Ghana Health Service.
Director-General Patrick Kuma-Aboagye said six health workers who had been infected had died, but 1,870 others had recovered.
The rest are receiving treatment at isolation centres.
The Greater Accra region, which includes the capital city, has recorded the highest number of infections among health workers.
The authorities say they are providing more protective gear to health facilities to reduce the infections.
Ghana has recorded about 26,000 cases of coronavirus and 139 deaths.
The country has conducted 339,491 Covid-19 tests.
