21-year-old FUOYE student dies after eating rice at boyfriend’s place in Osun

A 21-year-old student of Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, one Faderera Oloyede, has reportedly died after eating a plate of rice at her boyfriend’s residence in Iree, Osun State.

WuzupNigeria gathered that the boyfriend, Ayo Maliki, has gone into hiding after the incident while one Adekemi Adewumi, a friend of the deceased who accompanied her on the visit, has been arrested.

Oloyede was said to have died on Tuesday.

The deceased and her friend, Adewumi, were said to have arrived at Maliki’s place located in Koko Area of Iree on Monday.

They were said to have passed night till Tuesday and took a meal of rice provided by their host around 12pm.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Osun Command, Yemisi Opalola, on Wednesday, explained that the matter was reported to the police on Tuesday by a resident of Koko who said a corpse was discovered in one of the houses in the area.

Opalola said when the scene was visited, the remains of the deceased were recovered.

“Deceased friend, Adekemi Adewumi has been arrested but their host, Maliki Ayo, who is said to be the boyfriend of Faderera is at large. The State Criminal and Intelligence Department is investigating the matter.

“Corpse of the deceased has been deposited in Ladoke University of Technology Teaching Hospital Morgue, in Osogbo for autopsy,” Opalola concluded.
