25-year-old suspected armed robbery gang leader, six others arrested in Nasarawa

A suspected armed robbery gang leader has been arrested in Nasarawa State by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps [NSCDC].

The 25-years old suspect, one Mr. James Vincent, and his gang specialize in snatching of vehicles and motorcycles from the residents of Nasarawa.

Also arrested alongside the armed robbery gang leader were six other criminal suspects who were said to have been specializing in different kinds of stealing across the state.

Mohammed Mahmoud-Fari, the state commandant of NSCDC, who paraded the suspects at the command headquarters in Lafia, on Monday, the state command of the NSCDC,  said the gang leader was arrested at the Federal University, Lafia, on the day the University held her convocation ceremony with the help of intelligent unit.

The commandant also informed said that his men also arrested a man of 27 years who has been threatening to kill his mother.

According to him,

“This time around we are lucky to arrested a criminal gang leader that was terrorising the people in some part of Nasarawa state. The man specializes in snatching of vehicles and motorcycle.”

“We also have somebody who threatens to kill his mother. Then we have criminals that specialize in different kinds of stealing. We were able to get them arrested with the help of our intelligent unit,” he added.

He, however, further explained that James Vincent a gang leader was an ex-convict in Lafia, while in the prison he became a friend to one Madaki Sidi who masterminded the kidnapped of the wife of the village head of Akuza in 2015 in Obi Local government area of the state to perpetuate their criminal activities

He said James Vincent, the gang leader had been stealing motorcycles and selling them to Madaki Sidi.

NSCDC, however, maintained that the suspects would be arraigned before the court as soon as the command complete its investigation to serve as deterrent to others.
