36-year-old father of five arrested after failed suicide attempt in Ogun
The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) on Wednesday, arrested a 36-year-old father of five children, Fatai Oyedele, over his attempt to commit suicide.
Oyedele was rescued on Ogun River Bridge, on Wednesday, around 1.15pm, while attempting to jump into the river located at Akin-Olugbade, Abeokuta, the state capital.
It was gathered that Oyedele, a clothes trader, left his residence in Tourist Estate, Obere-Atan/Ota in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state, for Abeokuta to commit suicide.
TRACE’s Public Relations Officer, Babatunde Akinbiyi, in a statement, said a bottle of Sniper, a deadly insecticide, was found on him.
He added that the man was pulled out of the river shores by his men with the support of some civilians in the area.
Akinbiyi said Oyedele has been taken to Adigbe Police station.
