37-year-old fake army officer nabbed, SEE what he was caught with

A 37-year-old man from Kogi state, identified as Sunday Uwanle has been nabbed by the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Akure, the Ondo State capital for parading himself as an army officer.

The suspect, according to the Public Relations Officer of the brigade, Captain Ojo Adelegan, was arrested in army uniform by men of the brigade who were on routine patrol on Tuesday at Oluwatuyi area of Akure while fighting with some men.

Adelegan said the suspect had been using the army uniform to terrorise the people of Akure and environs for a long time.

He said, “Our investigation revealed that the suspect had been involving in some of the armed robberies that had been happening in Ondo and some neighboring states, using the army uniform.

” We have a report that he robbed a man in Akure of two vehicles, he had been using the army uniform to terrorize the people of Akure, at times he would go to petrol station and be causing trouble. Everybody is scared of him they thought he is a soldier. They also know him as a soldier at many police stations in Ondo State.”

Adelegan said the suspect also confessed to have bought the army uniform from one retired soldier who is a chief security officer of a branch of a commercial bank in Akure.

Some of the items recovered from him, according to the PRO included, a motorcycle, army uniform and an identify card of a police officer.

He said the suspect had been handed over to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the state police command for further interrogation and investigation.
