4th Republic: Kate Henshaw to contest for governor
Veteran actress, Kate Henshaw, is aspiring to govern Confluence State in a new political thriller movie, “4th Republic”, set for release in April 2019.
In the new movie, Henshaw starred as Mabel King, a strong-willed female governorship aspirant running against an incumbent, Idris Sani (Sani Mu’azu).
Mabel King is caught up in a web of a governorship election heavily marred by violence. King and her idealistic campaign manager, Ike try to discover what went wrong and challenged the victory of the incumbent, Sani at the election petition tribunal.
Sani’s associate St. James and Danladi try so hard to take down witnesses that could aid King’s case at the tribunal.
The movie, which will be released in cinemas across Nigeria in April 2019, is currently trending on Twitter.
“4th Republic is not just a film right for the election period. I think what is most significant is the message it carries, we need to stand up for the truth and fight for justice. It’s our duty,” Henshaw said, while speaking on her role in the new political thriller.
Produced by Bem Peever and co-produced by Kemi Lala Akindoju, 4th Republic also features Bimbo Manuel, Sani Muazu, Enyinna Nwigwe, Linda Ejiofor and Yakubu Mohammed, and is directed by award-winning director and writer Ishaya Bako.
