A week after their dad’s burial, kidnappers abduct sisters, demand N100m
Kidnappers have abducted two sisters and demanded N100m as ransom, the Oyo State Police Command confirmed on Tuesday.
The sisters – Pastor Omobola Adepoju and Mrs Abiola Olukotun – were abducted at a farm in Ibadan, Oyo State on Monday.
They are the daughters of late Chief Emiola Adesina, the Proprietor of Subuola Memorial Nursery/Primary School, Ibadan.
Adesina is also a former Director of Sports in the old Western State.
According to the police, the community where the sisters were kidnapped have been cordoned off by security agencies in an effort to arrest the abductors.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, said,
“They were kidnapped yesterday (Monday) at a farm towards Badeku in Ibadan. The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Shina Okukolu, gave a matching order to burst the crime.
“As we speak, the anti-kidnapping squad, the Special Anti-robbery Squad [SARS], the Special Tactical Team, the Police Tactical Team, Operation Puff Adder, the IGP Tactical Team and the Federal SARS have all been deployed to the area.
“They have cordoned off the area as we speak. They are carrying out a massive manhunt for the kidnappers in order to secure their release. I spoke with the OC/anti-kidnapping and he said they were combing the bush and the adjoining communities in an effort to secure their release.”
WuzupNigeria reports that Chief Emiola Adesina’s funeral was held a week ago.
“Omobola came in from Atlanta and was with her sister in her farm at a location on Ife Road in Ibadan where they were both kidnapped yesterday. The kidnappers have called the family to demand for N100million.”
