Abducted Ondo APC chairman, James Ajulo, released after payment of N2.5m ransom
The All Progressives Congress [APC] ward chairman in Ondo State, Mr James Ajulo, who was kidnapped by gunmen last Sunday has been released.
Ajulo, who is the party chairman in Ward 13, Akungba Akoko in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state was kidnapped in front of his residence, located at Ibaka area of Akungba.
The bandits took him away in his own vehicle.
Few days after the abduction, the kidnappers contacted the family and demanded a sum of N10m.
However, it was gathered that he was released on Wednesday evening, in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
One of the friends of the victim, Mr Tolu Babaleye, who confirmed the development, said the hoodlums set the victim free after collecting a sum of N2.5m.
Babaleye said,
“Ajulo James has been released by his abductors in Ado Ekiti after payment of N2.5million . We thank God for coming back to us unhurt. We are also grateful to everyone that showed concern about this ugly situation that is already living with us.”‘
