A rare spectacle of art surfaced on the internet space recently and it has got every beholder talking and admiring the brains behind such a masterpiece.

As the coronavirus pandemic hits the globe even harder, with over 300,000 persons infected and over 12,000 deaths recorded, according to newsmen an ingenuous recycler, whose identity is yet unknown, is creating ‘beauty out of ashes’ by turning used metal drums to mobile wash hand basins.

The photos of the mobile wash hand basins were originally posted on March 15 on the Facebook Page of the recycler, ‘Sympa Creations’.

According to the World Health Organisation, regular washing of hands is one of the ways to fight COVID-19.

“Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands,” stresses the UN specialised agency on health.

From Asia to the Americas, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa, the cases and deaths are across all continents of the world spiral daily, unfortunately.

In Africa, no fewer than 43 countries including Nigeria have recorded over 2,412 cases of the novel virus, according to the WHO African Region update.

Nigeria has 46 confirmed cases while a few suspected cases are still being tested.

The West African country recorded its first index case on February 27 and ever since, wash hand basins continue to surface at the entrance of most public places.

From malls to schools, workplaces, religious gatherings, as well as social spots, posters stressing the need for regular hand washing, are conspicuous in major cities of the country with a bursting population of over 180 million people.

The Nigerian government through its Ministry of Health and the Centre for Disease Control enjoins the citizens to embrace good hygiene practices including handwashing.

On the recycler’s Facebook page’s “About” were the words, “Beyond tinkering or being inspired, we are all delighted when we can indulge in new dreams and be inspired by the collective creativity that the internet offers us, among other things.”

Comments of admiration trailed the pictures showing the stages and processes of recycling the used metal drums to beautifully coloured mobile wash hand basins.

Wilby Barclaysbankz said, “I love it. I would like to purchase two.”

Don Carlthyn said, “This is lovely, Dm me your number. I’d like to make one for my company.”

Jenny Maviri said, “We need this in every corner during this Coronavirus crisis.”

Epiphanies Brou said, “Pretty, I want this. Where are you?”

A message was sent to the Facebook page which had no phone contact or physical address. But no response was gotten as of the time of filing this report.
