Again, Dino Melaye disses Yahaya Bello in new ‘Kogi Koya’ song [Video]
The lawmaker representing Kogi West at the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye, never hides his musical talents when he wants to address an issue or his political travails.
Since he dropped his hit track ‘Aje kun iya’ which went viral a few years ago, Dino has released other songs to either address his political travails or attack his political foes and perceived persecutors.
On Tuesday, the ‘Aje kun iya’ crooner released a new song to attack his prominent political foe and Governor of his state, Yahaya Bello.
In the video posted on his Instagram page, Melaye was singing in Yoruba language telling the Governor he has been rejected by the people of Kogi state as the state prepares for governorship election later this year.
Recall that Bello and Melaye’s friendship went south shortly after Bello was sworn-in as governor in 2016.
It is believed that the lingering political battle between the duo was one of the reasons Melaye left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rejoin the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) he ditched in the build-up to the 2015 elections.
The lyrics of the song which he sang in Yoruba says:
“Kogi ti ko, Kogi ti koya, eleda mi ko o un ti o da, Kogi ti Koya”
Translated:
“Kogi has rejected Yahaya Bello, Kogi has rejected suffering.”
Melaye recently launched a social media campaign tagged “Kogi Koya” (Kogi rejects suffering), which is believed to be against the re-election bid of Bello who is seeking a second term.
