Akeredolu’s roles in ‘Amotekun’ will earn him second term – Ondo Speaker
As the state is preparing for another governorship election, later in the year, the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Bamidele Oloyeloogun on Monday declared that the second term of the state governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, was sure.
Oloyeloogun said various achievements the governor had made in the last three years had earned him more love from the people of the state, particularly, his roles in the establishment of the South West security outfit, ‘Operation Amotekun.’
The speaker stated this at an event, organised by a pro-Akeredolu’s group, the ‘Democratic Peace Movement for Aketi 2020’, in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Represented by a former Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Samuel Aderoboye, the Ondo speaker said Akeredolu had performed well in every sector of the state, saying the people of the state had the love for him.
He said:
“The role he played in the establishment of ‘Operation Amotekun’ is a plus to him to secure second term in office. The people of the state love him. He is a man of integrity.”
Also speaking at the occasion, the Chief of Staff to Governor Akeredolu, Chief Olugbenga Ale said the achievements of Akeredolu in the state had already earned him the second term, adding the opposition parties had been silenced by Akeredolu’s achievements.
“Akeredolu is a product that does not need an advertisement. He insisted that there must be adequate security in the South-West, by championing the establishment of Operation Amotekun. This makes more people to love him more.
” So he deserved the second term. He has been paying workers salaries as and when due, since he came on board. He has been prudent with the state resources. He had touched all sectors. If the people of the state give him the second term, he would continue doing the good work” Ale stated.
The Coordinator of the Democratic Peace Movement for Aketi 2020, Prof. Olu Aboluwoye, said Akeredolu was committed to moving the state forward, calling on the people to support him for the second term to enable him deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.
