A Nigerian legal practitioner and pastor has advised men on the important stage they need to scale through in their courtship before making the decision to tie the knot with their partner.

Chidi Ogudu took to his Facebook page to share the advice which has generated debate on social media.

He told men to, as a matter of importance, ensure that the woman they are planning to marry catch them cheating at least twice.

This, he said, would allow them to know the level of the woman’s temperament, her emotional maturity and her level of tolerance.

He wrote:

“Before you marry any woman, allow her to catch you cheating at least twice. That way you can be sure of her tolerance level and emotional maturity. That way you can be very sure if she has the fear of God and spirit of forgiveness. Real love is all about forgiveness.”

In another post, he added:

“I am not saying that I am going to cheat on my future wife oooooooo. But please biko let me start begging you in advance. Don’t stab me oooooooo because of ordinary cheating. The Bible said that you have to forgive 77 times 7. I will certainly change. Just pray, help me to cast the devil. Watch war room. Avoid ndi ifenemenisi (feminist). What’s yours is yours.”

Ogudu’s advice seems to have been prompted by the series of reports of women stabbing their husbands to death over allegations of cheating.
