Animal sanctuary places job advert in search of people to cuddle pigs, feed them cookies
A United States-based animal sanctuary is currently in search of people to come and hang out with their pigs and give them hugs, belly rubs, talk to them and feed them cookies.
Cotton Branch Farm Sanctuary located in South Carolina, US, announced the vacancy for volunteers on Facebook:
The sanctuary wrote:
“Does loving-on sweet little faces like these seem like a good time? Then we have some GREAT news for you! We need piggy cuddlers!
“Come help socialize our adoptable residents so they can move into our adoption program with ease!
“Belly scratches, cookies, sitting with them and even just talking to our pig friends can get them ready for their new home.”
On its website, the sanctuary wrote:
“We need help with pig socialization so our adoptable residents can move into our adoption program with ease! What is better than to cuddle with piggies?!?!”
The farm, which looks after around 100 pigs at any time as well as a variety of other animals, went viral after sharing this advertisement.
Hundreds of people liked and shared their post with many saying they’ll be signing up to get involved.
The site states that volunteers don’t need to go through any kind of orientation but must be 18 years or older, or if between 16 and 18 then will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, “no exceptions”.
For those who can’t actually go and cuddle the pigs, they can always help the sanctuary by making a donation.
