Another tanker falls in Onitsha, spills content
A fuel-laden tanker on Thursday fell on the Onitsha/Enugu Expressway, spilling its contents, WuzupNigeria reports.
The recent crash comes in the wake of two fuel tankers which fell at different times and led to deaths and the destruction of properties.
WuzupNigeria gathered that the latest incident happened around 1.00 pm, causing residents to dash for safety.
The Anambra State Police Command confirmed the incident.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, in a statement, said commuters had been advised to use other routes.
The PPRO’s statement read in parts,
“A tanker loaded with PMS just fell into a ditch along Onitsha/Enugu expressway by Chipex Filling station.
“The PMS is spilling out at the time of making this report. It is highly advisable you alert residents in the Area through your medium to stay clear from the premises in order to prevent any disaster.
“Police patrol teams have cordoned off the Area and fire Service department was equally contacted to be on standby in order to prevent fire incident.”
