Any woman I marry is forbidden from posting photos on social media, man says, Twitter reacts
A controversial Twitter user based in the northern part of Nigeria has reeled out the major term his potential wife must strictly adhere to once they get married.
Sarki/@Waspapping_ is one of the leading voice on Arewa Twitter who act as moral police for Hausa ladies on social media and condemn them whenever they post photos where their dressing is “not in conformity with Islam standard”.
He took to Twitter on Tuesday evening to say any woman he marries is automatically banned from posting her photos on social media platforms like – Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Sarki said the only platform his potential wife is allowed to share photos is on her WhatsApp status where few family members and friends would see the photo.
He tweeted:
“Bro, I don’t mean to be dramatic , but the minute I marry you , you have to bid goodbye to posting your pictures on a public space like twitter , Instagram and Facebook. I’m not civilized enough to let you share your pictures to random strangers on a public space.
“If you must post pictures , post it on your WhatsApp status for the few family and friends that are there Moreover, once you become my wife , I’m the only hype man you need in your life.
“If you can’t abide by these easy and simple rules , you can always walk to your fathers house.”
Some social media users have been tweeting in support of Sarki’s marriage guidelines, while others disagree with him.
A Twitter user wrote:
To me whenever I’m seriously dating a girl for marriage she can’t post her pictures anyhow via any social media i can’t even wait till we are formally married.

Could this be…..your insecurity?! The fact that other clowns…I mean men, are supporting his motion speaks volume. Might as well just move into a cave to complete the equation.

There are better things to worry about in marriage than policing your spouse on Social Media.
Like:
Planning a Carribean Cruise together.
Getting the Kids a Solid Citizenship
Planning your retirement.

the problem that is destroying our culture is the fact that we are running towards western culture and dumping ours thinking its outgrowned. But 90 percent of American marriages end with a divorce. Most are due to cheat.

This can look like love but it’s controlling. If you read this again, you will see the number of times you are giving orders. That’s how you will generally behave in the marriage and then your spouse will want out. That’s how affairs start.

I wouldn’t even allow u to post unnecessarily on Social Media wen we are dating, nt to talk more of marriage

What of providing everything she needs and running every errand for her, by this she has no need to be seen around. You can also make her call time by 8pm to 8.30pm when you are around to use your phone. She shouldn’t own one. This might serve better

On d oda hand, u take it upon urself to always be attentive to her, caring, lovin nd praising in new ways evryday cox thats wat they look for on d public space. Ur stance is an islamic one dat may seem too inconvenient for dem, but there always is a legit alternative nd dats u.

Na, you are not civilized at all. But its fine, you won’t have a problem as long as you marry within the range of intelligence and hope she stays in that purdah and never see the light.

They’ll use 21st century to tell you that it is okay to be dayooth. Don’t listen! Hell will not differentiate a stone age body from the 21st century body.

Your own is even small. I won’t allow her own a camera phone even. She’s also not allowed to buy a mirror and keep at home.
The only time she’s allowed to see her reflection is when we visit the village stream. https://t.co/noJGBMWtOk

It’s simple, marry someone who is willing to do that. A lot of people do not post thier pics online and aren’t even on social media anyways.
Don’t go and find a lady who loves to post her pics & maintain a certain SM Image and start fighting her to change once you marry. https://t.co/dJfi4lCZFk
