SAD: Armed robbers attack family of Super Eagles midfielder
The home of Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi was attacked by armed robbers on Monday.
The robbers who were four in number took away several valuable items including a white Toyota Highlander and an undisclosed amount of cash from the house in Jos, Plataeu State.
Fortunately, nobody was killed although they physically assaulted the father of the Nigerian international, Punch reported.
Onazi who spoke to a close friend in Nigeria from his base in Turkey, disclosed that the robbers pretended to be courier men with a letter to be delivered to his father.

He said, “Those robbers came, pretending they were there to deliver a letter to my dad at about 1.40pm on Monday. But as soon as he collected their fake letter and asked where it was coming from they swooped on him, tied his hands, beat him up, inflicting machete cuts on him in the process.
” They told him this is the first in a series of attacks that they will launch on our house and that I( Onazi) will be their target the next time.
“Those guys took their time to take some valuable materials including car and some cash but I am thankful to God they didn’t do more than that.”
Already, the brothers of the Eagles star and other family members have reported the incident to the police who have promised to bring the hoodlums to book and also help with the recovery of the stolen items.
Ogenyi Onazi’s dad has also been discharged from hospital where he was treated for the injuries inflicted on him during the ordeal.
