BBC African footballer of the year: Top 5 players (Photos)
BBC has revealed top five nominees for the BBC African Player of the Year award.
The list includes Leicester City midfielder, Riyad Mahrez who made it after helping the Foxes clinch their first ever Premier League title last season.
Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang was not left out, he was nominated last year as well, after scoring an impressive 39 goals in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund last season.
Ghanaian star Andre Ayew and Senegal’s Sadio Mane have also been nominated for the award.
Last year’s winner, Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has also been nominated for the award and could become the first player to win the award three times.
The five candidates were revealed during a special live launch broadcast on Saturday.
The winner will be decided by fans from across the world, who have until 18:00 GMT on 28 November to vote for their choice.
