Benue woman, 28, allegedly impregnated by her 15-year-old son speaks

A 28-year-old woman, who was allegedly impregnated by her own son in Benue State, has reacted to rumours of the abominable act.

Martha Idoko, a resident of Otukpo in the state, was alleged to have committed incest with her 15-year-old son, Samuel.

The sexual act between the two was said to have resulted in pregnancy.

However, it was reported that the bubble burst when Samuel started having constant nightmares. In most of his dreams, he was said to have had a series of encounters with different masquerades, pursuing him.

Out of fear, he went to consult some seers and was asked to confess his wrong deeds, otherwise, he would die. In his confession, his sexual relationship with his mother was revealed and further investigation showed that Martha was already a few months pregnant.

Consequently, some members of vigilante in Otukpo, the headquarters of Idoma land summoned the mother and son, and they both allegedly confessed to the act. While the son alleged that his mother threatened to kill him any day he denied her sex, the woman alleged that her son held her from behind when she was coming out of the bathroom and had sex with her.

Amid the confusion, the son’s friend who hailed from Agatu rushed to Joy FM, a local radio station to make the development public. Since then, Martha and her son have become topics of ridicule in the entire Idomaland and beyond.

However, Martha had now spoken out and denied the report. According to Daily Post, the 28-year-old claimed the story was concocted to tarnish her image and that of her son and insisted that she was not pregnant and had no sexual affair with her son.

She alleged that one George from Agatu was responsible for the fake news about her. Martha lamented that the story has since gone viral as she had received calls from different unknown persons across the country.

“I did not do anything. It was a lie. I didn’t sleep with my son. They planted the story to tarnish my image and that of my son. We have even gone to the village(Owukpa) to investigate the matter and the elders told us to return to Otukpo as there is no course for alarm,’”Daily Post quoted her as saying.

She added,

“When we got to the village, there was a particular room that you cannot enter if you have committed this type of atrocity, but when I went in, I came out alive. The Alekwu was supposed to strike me if I did what they alleged, but that didn’t happen. So we returned to Otukpo with a message from the village elders to the elders here.’’

Asked whether she still lives with her husband despite the development, Martha said her husband had sent her out of the house earlier over the matter and had demanded a proper investigation before she could be accepted back.

“My husband furiously sent me out of the house and had demanded for a proper investigation on the matter, but right now, I’m back in the house.’’

Martha who said she has other 4fourchildren said it couldn’t have been possible for her to sleep with her son in a house where she lives with her husband and the other children.

I was famous in Akure before my wife hypnotised me into marrying her – man tells court

A Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday dissolved a three-year marriage between a caterer and mother of one, Bukola Obadipe, and her husband, Ayodeji, over deception and laziness.

Bukola, who lived at Alakia-Airport area, had petitioned the Customary Court to dissolve her marriage. Testifying before Chief Ademola Odunade, the court’s President, she said that her spouse had no milk of human kindness in him because he often went out to eat outside without making provisions for her and their child.

“Ayodeji promised me heaven and earth before I eventually married him, but tortured me with starvation and irresponsibility.

“Then, I decided to work harder for our mutual upliftment and survival. However, I noticed that he kept undermining all my effort by just feeding fat on my little earnings and refusing to work.

“If I got him a job, Ayodeji would not work but chose to play around, return home to eat and sleep.

“In fact, he never did anything when I became pregnant until when surgery was performed on me during delivery.

“Ayodeji prefers to follow politicians around for crumbs and tell lies against me,” Bukola said.

The respondent consented to the suit, but could not deny most of the allegations levelled against him.

Instead, Ayodeji who resides at Oke-Itunun area raised new issues as to why he wanted the court to dissolve the marriage.

“My lord, Bukola has completely ruined my life since I came across her.

“I was a famous Fashion Designer in Akure and tailoring was so profitable for me before Bukola brought bad luck to my business and life.

“I wooed her on Facebook and the first time she visited me in Akure we had sexual intercourse together and that was the last straw that broke my camel’s back spiritually.

“Bukola hypnotised me into marrying her and I unconsciously followed her to Ibadan where I became jobless and started washing her wears for her.

“She made me abandon my tailoring profession and took me to a lonely place in Ibadan where she turned me to a peasant farmer.

“The only hope I have now is the only child we had together, her father himself described her as a devil incarnate,” Ayodeji explained.

The Court’s President pronounced the marriage dissolved in the interest of peaceful living.

The court president advised young men and women to be mindful of where and how they come about their lovers. (NAN)
