Bonnke’s successor, Kolenda, arrives Calabar for crusade

Daniel Kolenda

Daniel Kolenda, the successor to renowned evangelist Reinhard Bonnke of the Christ for All Nations Crusade, has arrived Calabar, the Cross River State capital, for a three-day crusade that is expected to attract over three million worshipers nationwide.

Speaking with journalists at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport in Calabar shortly on arrival, Kolenda said the Holy Spirit had led the crusade team to preach the gospel and win souls for Jesus Christ.

The crusade has been scheduled to take place at the pavilion of the Cross River University of Technology in Calabar from February 15 to 18.

He said the crusade team had rejected several invitations from different parts of the world, adding that the case of Calabar was peculiar.

Kolenda, who was welcomed on arrival by top Christian leaders in the state, said, “As with other places that we go, we believe that the holy spirit told us to come here.

“There are many places in the world that asked us to come, but we told all of them that we were sorry and could not accept the invitation.

“We are in Calabar because the city is where the Holy Spirit asked us to come; and so here we are.”

He said the crusade was going to be a “harvest of souls and a wonderful time for salvation in the presence of the Lord.”

“If you want to know specifically what my word for the people of Calabar is, then come to the crusade ground,” he added.

When asked how he would be different from what his predecessor used to do when he came to Calabar for crusade, Kolenda said, “We are two different people, of course; but the good news is that we have the same Jesus and the same Holy Spirit and I have been with Reinhard Bonnke for about 12 years now.

“We have travelled around the world together and about nine years ago, I took over the ministry of Christ for All Nations as President and Chief Executive Officer. And for many years now, I have been preaching in his gospel crusades.

“So, we have come in the same Spirit, the same fire and the same anointing and I believe because of the way that it works in God’s economy, nothing diminishes but only goes from glory to glory.

“So, whatever you experienced last time with Evangelist Bonnke, you will be in for a double portion.”
