Residents of Ijegun in Alimosho local government area of Lagos State fled from their homes in droves in the early hours of Thursday as petrol pipeline went up in flames.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire must have been ignited by the activities of oil pipeline vandals who always invade the area fully armed to carry out their nefarious acts.
Another eyewitness who spoke to WuzupNaija on condition of anonymity said:
“We just woke up early this morning and saw the fire, it was so serious that we started packing some of our valuables and credentials before it extends to our house.
