BREAKING! Super Falcons thrash Zambia 4-0

Super Falcons of Nigeria beat the Shepolopolo of Zambia 4-0 at Cape Coast in Ghana in a Group B Match Day 2 fixture at the 2018 African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON).

Nigeria started their must-win match in a very sluggish manner, they found it difficult to string passes in the opening minutes of the game and made a lot of mistakes while going forward.

Asisat was the first player to go close to goal after her shot was saved by the Zambian goalkeeper Hazel. Ugochi’s header was saved by the Zambian goalkeeper in 19th minute as the Super Falcons looked for a goal.

Desire Oparanozie opened the scoring just before halftime with the assist from Francisca Ordega.

On 68 minute, Francisca Ordega capitalised on a rebound shot of Oparanozie that hits the woodwork to double the league for Nigeria.

Second half Substitute, Rasheedat Ajibade made it three with a sensational strike in 75 minute.

Amarachi Okoronkwo completed the rout in the additional minute before stoppage.

Nigeria will meet Equatorial Guinea on Saturday for the final group match.
