BRIEF ILLNESS! Governor Tambuwal’s spokesman, Imam Imam dies at 41
The Special Adviser on Media to Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Imam Imam, is dead.
Imam Imam, who is a journalist and public relations practitioner died at the age of 41 in the early hours of Friday at Nziamye Turkish Hospital in Abuja, after a brief illness.
According to a family source, Imam was admitted to the hospital on Saturday and was already recuperating before his death.
He started his journalism career with the defunct New Nigerian newspaper in Kaduna, where he rose to the position of Sports Editor.
He later became a correspondent of ThisDay newspaper in Kaduna and Zamfara states, and later bureau chief of the paper based in Kaduna.
The late journalist later became Thisday’s Politics Editor, before Aminu Tambuwal appointed him spokesperson when he was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Tambuwal reappointed Imam as his media adviser when he became governor of Sokoto state.
A close ally of the late journalist, Mohammed Isa, said the funeral ceremony for Imam is scheduled for 1:30 pm at Annur Mosque in Abuja.
