Brymo declares self Nigeria’s artiste of the decade, gives reasons

While the debate on who should be Nigeria’s artiste of the decade seems to be gradually whithering on social media, alternative singer Olawale Ashimi popularly known as Brymo has declared himself as the right person deserving of the crown.

Recall that Nigerians on social media were engaged in a hot debate over who among the artistes deserves to be named artiste of the year.

Davido, Wizkid, Olamide and Burna Boy were the top contenders being debated on social media.

Rapper M.I Abaga waded into the debate and declared Olamide as the artiste who deserves the honour.

“For being a hiphop artist on this list Olamide should just win this.. legend in my eyes,” M.I tweeted.

While many were already aligning with M.I’s position, Olamide himself in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle declared Wizkid as the artiste of the year.

Well, one man who many seem not to be giving attention has come out to say he, and no one else, deserves to be artiste of the decade. He gave reasons.

Brymo took to his Twitter handle on Friday and stated why he deserves the honour.

He wrote:

“I’m Nigeria’s Artiste of The Decade .Oleku was the right to express deeply, and the biggest Afrobeats song ever..an honor it was my voice…S/o @Iceprincezamani… Ara is bigger than any other song in Nigeria since its release… and I curated ‘the alternative’.”

It would only take a little time before Brymo’s declaration spark another Twitter debate. Well, WuzupNigeria is still observing.
