Buhari receives briefing from special economic Committee
President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, just minutes ago, received briefings from members of the Presidential Committee on the review of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy.
The President disclosed this on his Tweeter handle, @MBuhari at about 1:51 pm on Thursday, April 2, 2020.
The President disclosed those who were in the meeting to include the Minister of Financial, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed; the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva; the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele; and the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr Mele Kyari.
It would be recalled that President Buhari set up the special committee last month to help plan its way through the rough impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As a government we are very mindful of the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak, on the lives and livelihoods of Nigerians, and on the national economy. In that regard, I just received a briefing from the Minister of Finance, Minister of State for Petroleum, CBN Governor and GMD, NNPC,” the President tweeted.
