‘Burna Boy is a confirmation that Wizkid’s music is empty’
A Nigerian music fan has given a damning verdict on the lyrical content of Afropop singer Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid.
The fan identified simply as Ebuka took to Twitter on Monday to share his opinion in a tweet that has since gone viral on the micro-blogging site.
His damning verdict was in reaction to Wizkid’s new song ‘Joro’ released on Monday. The song has since received several knocks from music fans who rated it as below average.
Ebuka tweeted:
“Burna boy’s content exposes the emptiness of Wizkid’s music.”
As expected, his tweet has received knocks from Wizkid’s fans and kudos from others who believe Wizkid’s songs are now becoming a shadow of his old days.
Oghenekevwe wrote:
“I listened to Wizkid’s Joro, then listened to Burna Boy’s Another Story. You’re absolutely spot on”

Listen to that “African Giant” album again if you doubt anything this Don said, then see if you place ANY Wizkid album side by side it. https://t.co/sRkDtxFjsY

Wizkid slowly becoming a victim of his own success, people always expecting good content from him because of the standards he has set for afrobeats. Regardless JORO is a Jam ?.

U people need to take several seats. Is like u want all musicians to be discussing about politics or whatever happens on daily basis. Everybody can’t be motivational speakers. Music is entertainment & that’s what we get from Wizkid. If u want motivational songs pls shift!

It wasn’t always that way. Ojuelegba is a classic but as a poor boy from the ghetto, Wiz got rich and convinced himself that he’s now an Aje butter, so he’s busy singing for London girls/Aje butters instead of reflecting reality and dropping something inspired by his hero Fela.
