Burna Boy’s ‘African Giant’ gets Grammy award nomination
Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has added another great feat to his soaring musical career.
Recall that we said this year seems to be his year as he has been recording success from all sides, and recent events seem to be confirming the assertion as his album, ‘African Giant’ has made the 2020 Grammy Awards nomination.
The African Giant album which has won him several awards and set him high on the world stage has been nominated in the ‘Best World Music Album’ category of the much-coveted world music award – Grammy.
Music manager and politician, Banky W, shared the good news on his Twitter page as he thanked the singer’s management.
Banky tweeted:
“Our African Giant has been nominated for a GRAMMY!!!!!! Congratulations to @burnaboy, his Mom and the entire team. AMAZING, and well deserved. Anything is possible with a little bit of faith and a lot of hard work. So so sooo happy for him.”
The Grammy Award is an international award by The Recording Academy in the United States to recognize achievements in the music industry.
A few weeks ago Oluwaburna, as he likes to call himself, won the ‘Best African Act’ at the 2019 MTV Europe Music Awards, in October he won AFRIMMA’s Artiste of the Year award, in June he won the 2019 BET ‘Best International Act’ award.
