Lobi Stars who lost 0-1 to their visitors in Cameroon a week earlier scored the first goal in the 10th minute through Alimi Sikiru at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

Speaking to newsmen after the match, Lobi Stars’ head coach Solomon Ogbeide expressed joy over his team’s qualification for the next round.

“We expected a tough match against them and that was what we saw today as they played a defensive game to protect their slim one-goal advantage.

“The game opened up after the interval as they came out to search for a goal to make it difficult for us.

“Scoring has been a problem for Nigerian clubs, but we are going home to perfect our scoring ability as the next round will be more difficult.’’

He then thanked Enugu football spectators for their massive support during the match, saying they confirmed his belief that Enugu is a home for all Nigerian clubs.

“Enugu supporters always back any team that plays well, even when you are playing against home side Rangers International of Enugu,’’ Ogbeide said.

Speaking also, Kone who was adjudged the Man of the Match by the spectators said the club had expected a tough game against their opponents from Cameroon.

“Yes, I may be new in this club, but I find it easy to adapt because I have been in this team before and I left. Besides, Lobi Stars are a champions’ club.

“It is always easy to play with champions, as they made the movement and flow of the game so light for you,’’ he said.(
