Carabao Cup: Manchester United, Liverpool, others discover quarter final opponents
Draw for the Carabao Cup quarter-final was made on Thursday morning with the eight teams left in the competition knowing their fate.
Manchester United will be hosting League Two side, Colchester, while title holders Manchester City will play League One team, Oxford United FC.
Liverpool will play Aston Villa after going past Arsenal on penalties after a 5-5 thriller at Anfield
The ties are due to be played the week commencing 16 December.
However, the exact date of Aston Villa’s tie against Liverpool remains to be seen.
The EFL have said they are in discussions with Liverpool over rescheduling their Carabao Cup quarter-final fixture.
An EFL spokesman said:
“The EFL is in discussions with Liverpool FC to identify an alternative date given the club’s participation in the Fifa Club World Cup competition.”
