Diverse reactions on Friday trailed the first ever Ibadan Easter Fun Fair for children held at the Libra 09 Events Centre.
Some of the children, who trooped to the event centre with excitement, told newsmen in separate interviews that they were excited by the experience and looking forward to many more editions of the initiative.

The children had storytelling session, sing along and played with the bouncing castle among other programmes.

Six-year-old Morire Olayode of Fontana International School said that she liked the whole experience and that she was glad that her mother brought her.

Olayode said the balloons were so colourful and that she could not take her eyes off them.

“I’m having so much fun here and it’s exciting meeting new faces and making friends.

“There are lots of games to be played, a lot to eat. I want us to be having many more of this type of events because it’s fun,” she said.

Seven-year-old Eriayo Daramola-Abiola of the American Christian Academy said he was having so much fun with the music and bouncing castle.

Daramola-Abiola said that jumping in the bouncing castle with other kids was the favourite part of the event for him.

“In the castle, we are having so much fun; we are clapping and cheering one another.

“The castle is bonding us all both boys and girls and we are relating like we’ve known each other since,” he said.

Six-year-old Tioluwani Oduntuga of Sunshine Degold School thanked the organisers for providing an avenue for him to have fun.

Oduntuga said that he had not been to this type of event before.

“Events that I have seen this type of setting is at birthday parties and I love this. I’m hoping that we will get to attend more of this type of event.

“The bouncing castle is my favourite thing here. We all love bouncing castle,” he said.

Emmanuel Adebunmi of Ibadan International School said that the cake stand was colourful and beautiful and that he loved it.

Adebunmi said that he also loved the experience of the bouncing castle.

“Almost everything here is beautiful but what I love most is the cake and bouncing castle. I love this programme and I want my daddy to take me there as often as possible.”

“I have made new friends but I don’t know if I’ll see them again because we don’t have each other’s telephone number, “he said.

Temitope Adelakun, the convener of the Easter Funfair, said that the vision was to create an avenue for children in Ibadan to experience to learn through bonding.

Adelakun said that “we have an understanding that for kids, there is learning in fun.”

“This learning helps build memories that kids can carry throughout their lives.

“The bigger picture is to have a kind of club where kids can come together and explore their creativity, but it starts with this Easter funfair,’’ she said.
