Chimamanda, Peter Obi melt hearts with backstage interview at UN Foundation award [Video]

A video of award-winning Nigerian writer Chimamanda Adichie and Peter Obi, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections is melting hearts of social media users.

In the video presently making the rounds on social media, the duo was seen granting a backstage interview at the New York venue of the United Nations Global Leadership Award.

Adichie made history by becoming the first Nigerian and first African woman to receive the UN Global Leadership Award.

Asked how he feels to be at the event, Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra state said “fantastic evening”.

He added:

“When you have one of your own being a global ambassador, representing a country where ordinarily role models are rare to find…

“What we have today is that those that we should celebrate we are not celebrating them, that is why we are not developing.

“So we need to reverse that, imagine one of yours being on the global stage and that’s what Nigerians should emulate.”

Asked how she feels to have the former governor standing beside her at the event, “well, fantastic,” she blushed

“Not only was he a wonderful governor in Anambra State, he changed things around in Anambra.
