A Nigerian sex therapist, Hauwa Saidu Mohammed, popularly known as Jaruma Empire, has incurred the wrath of social media users over her post where she claimed that grooms’ mothers are the cause of many broken marriages.

In a post on her verified Instagram page which she has since deleted, the Dubai-based social media sensation added that Davido’s fiancee, Chioma who was delivered of a baby boy in the United States on Sunday, is lucky that her mother-in-law is not alive to make “her life a living hell.”

She wrote:

“Mother in-laws are the cause of divorce! Chioma does not have any mother-in-law making her life a living hell. Chioma is LUCKY!”

Her post has sparked a series of reactions from social media users as many disagreed with her opinion and also rained curses on her.

Some Twitter users described her post as insensitive for mentioning Davido’s late mother.

“Any woman that lowkey wishes her mother inlaw bad.. won’t even live to be a mother in-law.. she will die before any of her child gets married!

“Chioma is lucky??? But one day Chioma will be a Mother-in-law… will Chioma’s daughter-in-law be UNLUCKY? What a crappy statement!?? Not nice.”

@Nellobrown:

“That means you have to start praying and hoping to die before your sons or daughters get married so you don’t be the cause of your Children’s divorce.People just talk before they think these days.”

@mamaariella:

“My mother in-law was an angel that walked this earth. I miss her everyday. So please let’s not generalize. Truth be told saying Chioma is lucky her mother in-law is dead is a bit insensitive, you did not know the woman so you can’t just judge she would have been wicked. I’m sure Davido wishes everyday his mum was alive to meet his wife and kids. Please let’s put other people’s feelings into consideration when we say the things we say?”
