“There is no such thing as waste, every waste can be reduced, reused and recycled,” says an 11-year-old girl, Misimi Isimi, who is on a mission to save Lagos of environmental waste.

Speaking to BBC, Isimi also known as “Miss Environment” lamented on how annoying Nigerians dispose waste in Lagos and her efforts to rid the city of its waste.

She further pointed out that some adults are not environmentally responsible for keeping the environment clean.

Miss Environment also revealed that she loves to educate kids on proper waste disposal.

The 11-year-old said;

“The waste I pick every day is caused by Nigerians and this is so so annoying.

“My name is Misimi Isimi and I’m on a mission to save Lagos from environmental waste.

“There is no such thing as waste, every waste can be reduced, reused and recycled.

“Some adults are not environmentally responsible in keeping the environment clean

“I love to educate kids right from their tender age so when they grow up they can be caretakers, they can be environmentally responsible and environmentally conscious.

“I actually love to call my self, “Miss Environment.”

“We should stop littering the environment because if we litter the environment, this may lead to pollution and may lead to diseases and infection which may lead to a high mortality rate, also known as death.”
